The Winston-Salem Estate Planning Council invites you to attend our next meeting on Tuesday, September 17th at 5:30pm at Old Town Country Club with guest panelists and local experts: Edward Griggs, JD, Amy Gardner, CPA, and Stan Scott, CTFA.  Panelists will discuss war stories, various experiences, the "dos and dont’s", and predictions as it relates to modern day planning.  

Edward Griggs, JD. is a Partner with the law firm Womble Bond Dickinson. He has significant experience representing both individuals and organizations in the areas of Private Wealth and Corporate Law.  Edward’s practice focuses on wealth transfer planning, charitable planning, trust and estate administration, and fiduciary litigation. He provides his corporate and individual clients with sophisticated tax and charitable planning advice that is comprehensive and customized to meet their needs. In addition, he advises charitable organizations and clients in the Education Sector about governance, tax compliance, grant-making, and fundraising issues. His experience extends to representing alumni associations and clubs, private foundations, supporting organizations, public charities, and other nonprofit organizations. Edward has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America, Super Lawyers, Business North Carolina’s Legal Elite and 40 Under Forty. He is a frequent speaker on trusts and estates topics and a fellow in The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

Amy Gardner, CPA is a Tax Professional and Principal Manager for Avior Tax & Accounting. Since 2008, Amy was an integral part of Lindsay & Gardner, CPAs, PLLC, bringing over a decade of expertise to the firm, prior to its merger with Avior. Amy is a member of the American Institute of CPA and North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants. Amy holds her Chartered Global Management Account designation and is a current board member for the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce. She has served as the president of the Reynolda Rotary Club and is a recipient of the Outstanding Women in Business Away by Triad Business. Amy finds fulfillment in working with individuals on their accounting and tax needs, as well as partnering with business owners striving to maximize their business potential. She is dedicated to teaching the importance of strategic planning and implementing effective reporting systems. Amy’s definition of professional success is centered around assisting business owners and individuals in identifying financial success and achieving peace of mind.

Stan Scott, CTFA is a Senior Trust Advisor and Executive Director with Wells Fargo Bank in the Wealth & Investment Management division. Stan works with clients to integrate fiduciary and investment knowledge into each client’s custom wealth plan.  He coordinates with investment strategists to align investments with the client’s goals and values.  Based on the client’s particular situation, Mr. Scott can coordinate a variety of specialized wealth services in order to help grow and preserve assets, while working toward the client’s overall wealth goals. Stan has worked at Wells Fargo Bank for 39 years, performing in various capacities of consumer banking prior to joining trust services in 1994.  Stan is on the Finance Committee for iCan House Services and volunteers with River Oaks Community Church.  He serves on the advisory board for CareNet Counseling.  He serves on the Board of Directors for Senior Services, Inc.
